Discover the secrets to a perfect home exchange. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced traveler, this guide will provide you with all the tools you need to plan and execute unforgettable exchanges.

Welcome to Sa MesaLuna Nature House, where you will feel "free and in touch with nature."
The house is in the countryside, built in a rustic style. If you're an early riser, you can admire a wonderful sunrise over the sea.
Helpful tips for a perfect stay
If anything happens...if you need anything...don't worry, my mother, Alina, lives next door and can help you with any problems or even just offer advice! Sardinia is sunny all year round, so even in December you'll likely find it pleasant to go to the beach and, why not, even swim.
If you need it, I'll leave both an umbrella at home to protect you from the sun and a double-sized beach towel to lay out on the sand.
In Sardinia, separate garbage collection is done door-to-door. Every Tuesday morning, you'll need to bring your bags to the top of the hill. It's important to use clear bags to separate paper, plastic, and glass. You'll have a separate bin for organic waste only. At home, you'll find a table with instructions on how to properly separate your garbage. Unsorted waste is taken directly to the recycling center located in ILBONO.
We ask that you return the house in the same condition in which you received it.
The entire house is non-smoking.
Parties are prohibited.
The maximum number of guests at the time of booking must be respected, otherwise the stay may be cancelled.
The accommodation is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
PLEASE NOTE: To ensure adequate standard cleanliness, we have an external cleaning service. Cleaning is the responsibility of the guests and costs €50.

The farm and the visits
The house is located on a 5-hectare fruit farm. If you happen to be here during harvest time, don't hesitate to ask the owner, Alina, for a tour of the apple, cherry, and peach trees, or the vegetable garden to pick tomatoes.

The most beautiful beaches in the world
An often-forgotten paradise. Ogliastra is the wild soul of Sardinia, characterized by splendid mountainous landscapes and unmissable beaches. The Ogliastra coast invites you to discover it, by land or by sea, with the boat trips offered in the area.

Explore the wild Ogliastra
Ogliastra is a land yet to be discovered, wilder than other Sardinian coasts. The locals, courteous and hospitable, are eager to preserve their land. Follow their advice to discover unique panoramic views and secluded beaches where you can enjoy tranquility even in high season. The natural pools of Bau Mela in the municipality of Villanova Strisaili are a must-see.

Some itinerary suggestions
Remember that distances are significant and the roads aren't always the best, so take your time and remember that this is a vacation, not a race!
Ogliastra is an area of Sardinia that still has much to discover. The coast boasts countless beaches, including some of the most beautiful in the world. The hinterland is rich in natural pools, hidden trails, and archaeological sites with countless nuraghi still to be excavated.
You'll find a comprehensive list here.

TO THE SEA
You'll find a beach umbrella and a double-sized beach towel in the house.
I definitely recommend a boat trip to the coves of Baunei. It's a day trip. Cala Goloritze is the cove named the most beautiful beach of 2025.
You can rent a dinghy, pilot it yourself and have a skipper, or book a spot with a company that offers group tours. You can contact them directly in Arbatax; there are many small kiosks that accept reservations. Or go directly to the Arbatax Tourist Pier and book. The same reservations can be made from the port of Santa Maria Navarrese.
Other sandy beaches include Lido di Orrì and Cea Beach. Porto Frailis is a beautiful bay. Very unique beaches include "Perde e Pera" and the beaches in Marina di Gairo; "Su Sirboni" is a must-see.

and Coccorrocci is a pebble beach, but if you have patience, from there you can reach "Cale e Lua" via a semi-challenging walk.

If you want to snorkel, you can go to Porto Frailis, Cala Ginepro, or Santa Maria Navarrese. In Arbatax, if you want to eat seafood, I recommend Molo di Ponente.

And excellent gelato at Star UNO - an excellent bar with spacious indoor and outdoor seating. Ideal for breakfast if you arrive by ship at 6:00 a.m. The varied and delicious pastries are perfect, but also for watching the sunset in the evening.
If you want to shop, you can head to either Lanusei or Tortolì.
IN THE MOUNTAINS
If you want to take a walk in the woods, I recommend "Bosco Selene" with a guided tour of the archaeological site.

Stop by the natural pools of "Bau Mela." Once you arrive and park on the bend, there are some signs. If you go down to the pools, you'll see the beautiful pools; if you go down to the right, you'll go to other, less crowded pools.
The water there is shallower and therefore warmer. You can swim and stretch out on the white rocks. After this trip, I recommend lunch or dinner at the typical Sardinian restaurant in Villagrande, "Santa Barbara." I can make a reservation for you, if you like.
Go see Perda Liana, and pass by Lake Flumendosa. You'll also find them on the north side, among the marine fossils.
For a nuraghe itinerary in Ogliastra, you can follow the Sentiero dei Nuraghi di Ulassai, which leads to the Nuraghe Serbissi and other archaeological and naturalistic sites, or opt for the naturalistic and archaeological trail that starts from Baccu 'e Paule and reaches the Su Fronte 'e Is Cerbos bridge, the S'Urgu giants' tomb, the Silla Caccari domus de janas, and the Nercone complex.

A trip to the Tacchi di Osini is a must-do. This underwater canyon emerged millions of years ago, very similar to the formation of the Trentino Dolomites. There, you can see the Scala di San Giorgio, nuraghi, and caves.
https://www.sardegnasentieri.it/carte/tacchi-dogliastra
The Su Marmuri Caves in Ulassai are truly beautiful. Remember to dress warmly, as it gets quite cold in the caves.

You'll find other natural pools with refreshing water in Ulassai and Ussassai. If you check, there are many sites that organize very pleasant excursions. You'll find a traditional restaurant next to the caves; stop in if you like.
Ulassai is the hometown of Maria Lai, an internationally renowned artist. She has turned the town into her own work of art, and you can also visit the museum dedicated to her.

Also in Ulassai, go and visit the textile laboratory, where they collaborate with great designers like Fendi and Gucci.

If you are curious about the hinterland, don't miss the event
AUTUNNO IN BARBAGIA.
https://www.cuoredellasardegna.it/autunnoinbarbagia/it/index.html
Every weekend in autumn, a village in Barbagia will pay homage to its ancient culture. You'll rediscover the cult of the Mother Goddess and the Ox.
